Joan Batlle – EADA Business School

Joan Batlle is an Expert of the European Commission in Internet of Things and European Projects evaluator. Contact point for Eurocities, Major Cities of Europe and World eGovernments Organization.
Involved in all technological areas of ICT since 1984, he has a broad understanding of Government specific problems and ICT challenges for improvements applying innovative Technology in government processes.
Has worked in the Department of Creativity and Innovation of the Barcelona Institute of Culture, Head of International Cooperation at the CIO office of the Barcelona City Council and Head of eGovernment International Cooperation and Innovation in the Municipal Institute of Informatics

Renato de Castro – EADA Business School

Renato de Castro is senior vice president for smart city investments at Commercial Real Estate Financing, Inc., an american equity infusion & grant funding bank based in Pennsylvania, US. He is member of the advisory board of Smart Cities Asia 2016, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, global advisory board of Leading Cities NGO, Boston, US and member of the advisory board of Architect Corner, from Hyderabad, India.
International advisor for The World e-Governments Organization of Cities and Local Governments, with headquarters in Seoul, and founder, executive board member and senior consultant at Baumann Consultancy Network for Smart Cities projects and internationalization strategies.
He is currently Doctor of Business Administration candidate at Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands, with his doctoral research field in Smart Cities. He is also writer and video blogger at Actual Smart City Magazine, the global-leading publication about Smart City with more than 400.000 monthly visits, present in 120 countries and 1.500 cities all over the world. He is a world-renowned speaker/lecturer on international strategies and investments attraction for smart cities.

Kenty Richardson and Jordi Cañas – Consultants.

Kenty Richardson is presently Director for International Relations and Strategic Development at the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (www.rec.org).
He has worked as head of international affairs of Catalan Government in the Environment Department for more than 15 years.
He managed the development cooperation and promoted the integration of the environment dimension in the Catalan ODA. Kenty was one of the founders of nrg4SD, promoting the role of subnational governments in sustainable development (SD) and climate change at UN level.
He was in charge of the follow up of the EU environmental policy in close coordination with Spanish regions. Kenty was initiating the Agenda 21 of Catalonia and became part of the team in charge of drafting and leading the interministerial and public consultation process.
He was part of several inter-regional networks/organisations such a 4 Motors for Europe, CTP or CRPM. He worked also in the field of environmental education and awareness raising campaigns.
Kenty holds a LL.M in International Law from the University of Aix en Provence, a Diploma of European Studies from the College of Europe, a Master of Spatial Planing and Environmental Law combined with a diploma on Environmental Pollution from the University of Strasbourg and a Post-graduate on Environment and Economics from the University of Barcelona.

Jordi Cañas is a professional expert on environment specialized in Bio energy and circular economy.
He has a vast experience in the field being managing director in Waste management and treatment department of ACCIONA for more than 8 years.
He has also worked as an expert for the Catalan Government, being responsible for the definition of environmental policies and its integration in all public policies. Run a large number of Inter-departmental coordination for planning instruments in the sector of energy, water and waste.
He was a member of the Commission for Coordination of Climate Change Policies of the Government of Spain, member of the National Climate Council and member of the Climate Change Advisory Board of Spain and Spanish state delegation in the Cop 10 and Cop11- MOP 1 of the Convention UN on Climate Change.
Has been responsible for international relations team of the Department of Environment and Housing and representative in various inter-regional networks (Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development, ENCORE) and chaired the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production Mediterranean Action Plan of UN
He has been responsible for development cooperation projects of the Environment and Housing Department in Latin America (Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, and Dominican Republic) and member of the Catalan Cooperation Council.

Lavola offers solutions to respond to needs in different areas: social responsibility and sustainable development, efficient energy use, urban and regional sustainability, communication, education for sustainability, climate change and facilities management. It currently has its headquarters at the Ecoedifici building in Manlleu. It has offices in Barcelona, Vilanova i la Geltrú and Madrid, and has a sister company in Andorra.
Currently they are involved in a Smart City project in the city of Barcelona, developing the concept of “Autoeficient/Smart islands” together with other relevant companies such as Acciona or Picharquitects.

Andrea Floria – CEO at ACZ Consulting, Craiova, Romania.

He has a Master degree in Political Sciences and a dissertation in EU Law. Andrea has been working in the field of EU Structural funds for more than 18 years. As a civil servant in public administration and as a consultant in Technical Assistance projects, he has been covering key positions in the management systems of ERDF and ESF, with a particular experience in the sector of co-financed aids to enterprises, economic conversion and public infrastructures.
After more than 12 years in several positions of responsibility in the Italian public administration, both at central and local level, Andrea has worked as a consultant in several EU or accessing countries, extending his ability to compare different styles and traditions in organizing the management systems of public funded interventions.
From 2.010 he is General Director at ACZ, and teacher of Structural Funds at the University of Florence. Andrea is also one of the most appreciated professional trainers in management and control procedures for Managing Authorities and Intermediate bodies, providing regular trainings addressed to public professionals dealing with the management of EU financial resources, in all Europe.
